The Star Thrower

A man was walking on the beach one day and noticed a boy who was reaching down, picking

up a starfish and throwing it in the ocean. As he approached, he called out, “Hello! What are you doing?” The boy looked up and said, “I’m throwing starfish into the ocean”. “Why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?” asked the man. “The tide stranded them. If I don’t throw them in the water before the sun comes up, they’ll die” came the answer. “Surely you realize that there are miles of beach, and thousands of starfish. You’ll never throw them all back, there are too many. You can’t possibly make a difference.” The boy listened politely, then picked up another starfish. As he threw it back into the sea, he said, “It made a difference for that one.”

American philosopher, author, and educator Loren Eiseley sums up brilliantly my goal in life: To make a difference, one person at a time.

As a Puyallup native, and lifelong resident of the South Puget Sound, I have an intimate knowledge of the region and have watched laid-back towns transform into sophisticated cultural hubs. I truly love Washington!

My very first job in high school, ironically, was working in a local Household Finance office. I was not a lender but spent many hours filing paperwork for buyers seeking help in obtaining a home loan. From Puyallup High School, I headed east of the cascades to study education in Ellensburg. After earning my B. Ed. From Central Washington University and my M. ET. from Lesley College, I began a long career in Elementary Education, Making the Difference in many children’s lives. Several years ago, when I learned that modern-day slavery exists in the form of human trafficking, I organized a fundraiser, One Child at a Time, and to this day, I actively support Operation Underground Railroad. This non-profit assists governments around the world in rescuing and repairing the lives of victims of human and sex trafficking.

In early 2018, I added the title REALTOR® and joined forces with the members of the We Get It Done! team. We hold to the belief that each client deserves the full service and care that only a team of experts can consistently provide. When you hire us, you can expect the personal attention and protection traditionally associated with the client-agent relationship as well as the added advantage of extra professionals at no added cost.

A dedication to continuing education has followed me throughout my careers. I have completed countless hours of study in my pursuit of understanding. Most recently I achieved the designation of Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) and received the 2021 Rising Star Real Estate Award for Seattle. Working with buyers, particularly first-time buyers, has provided me a unique opportunity to truly Make a Difference. I earned my Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR®) designation, as well as my Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA) certification so I can better serve those who place their trust in me with the largest purchase of their lifetime. My number one priority is building relationships with my customers. I pride myself on listening to my clients to discover their wants and needs and doing whatever it takes to ensure that the buying process is exciting and as stress-free as possible. Clients become friends who trust me to find them their perfect home.

“Christine was very responsive in helping to search out homes in the area and didn’t complain once when I threw a huge curveball in the home lineup she had for me when I completely wanted to look in a different area”

-Rita J.

On a personal note, I have a gusto for old homes and their distinctive architecture. Combine that with my craving for knowledge and watch out! I will point out every gambrel roofline and transom window in town. My own home is a 100-year old craftsman bungalow on a couple of acres, and I am madly in love with every crooked cranny. I live here with my husband, our 2 German Shepherds, and 2 cats. We also have several chickens all with lovely, quirky personalities.

Although my son and daughter have moved out, I adore the days when my grandson comes over and I can delight in his simple fascination with crawling up the aged stairs and plopping down on the landing between floors.

“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make” -Jane Goodall

So, the natural question is: Would you like to work together? Let me make a difference for you.

Jay Wendelburg

Broker, Realtor

"Jay Wendelburg is the most enthusiastic and hardest working Real Estate agent you will ever have the pleasure to meet." (R.C. Renton, WA)

Born and raised in Green Bay, WI with an independent & hard-working “mid-west” attitude, Jay spent his summers working at his Uncle’s dairy farm. At the age of 18 Jay moved to California for 2 years of college before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. Over Jay’s 4 years of service his primary duty station was in Mare Island, CA with the Fleet Anti-terrorist Security Team (FAST) Company Pacific. Jay earned his jump wings, completed C.Q.B school, was JSOC qualified, a scout swimmer and was honorably discharged in 1994. Jay then finished his degree in marketing and focused on consulting with varied industries in new product development and marketing campaigns.

Jay found he had an intense interest in real estate investing while living in Ventura and Ojai CA. In 2006 Jay moved to Redmond WA and started his real estate career. “Originally my plan was to invest so I took up a keen interest in auctions and that’s where we purchased our first home together. But once I had my license, I realized how much I loved helping my clients achieve their real estate goals!” Always the entrepreneur Jay has focused his time at building his real estate business & investing in rental properties. Today Jay is surrounded with strategic relationships focused on achieving his client’s goals. Communication, excellence and results are my objective. Who Am I Really? • Playing “Tag” with my grandkids • Losing my voice at Centurylink Field • Admiring the view from the 18th green • Building the next project • Spending time with my Creator Little-known fact I met my wife while walking down the hallway at college. The only word I could utter was “Hello.” I walked away, looked at my buddy and simply said, “I am going to marry that girl.” He laughed and gave me no chance. One year later I simply smiled at him as he stood as part of Kelly’s and my wedding party. 25 years later I still celebrate each June the day I walked down that hallway. Are we a good fit? I was always told if you can’t say it best yourself, find someone else to say it for you…

“Having Bill as my agent was the greatest experience and more than I could have asked for. He has to be one of the nicest and most honest people I've ever met. Bill walked me through the process and was with me every step of the way, always made himself available if I needed anything and answered all of my questions when I didn't understand. When the deal started to go sideways, Bill was there to advocate for me and worked with all parties to make sure it came together. I will absolutely recommend Bill.”

Ready to create your legacy? I’m here to guide you to your next home.
